Ruffles And Leather Leggings

In Fashion, Outfit of the day by wR23Fs2Sqi41 Comments

Oh, hello October! I Hope you had a great weekend! We spent ours at the lake since the weather has been so nice. Fingers crossed it sticks around 🙂
In the past, I wouldn’t have called myself a fan of ruffles (on me) but it’s funny how our style changes as we get older. When I was a kid, my mom would always try to make me wear pretty dresses, especially ones with either bows or ruffles. And I would always end up ruining them because I was such a tomboy and rejected anything girly. She eventually gave up because I think she secretly knew I would embrace my feminine side one day. Lol

It took me awhile but lately I find myself gravitating towards more pieces like this ruffle top that have a bit of a feminine/romantic flair to them.
I feel like ruffles act as their own accessory and for that reason, I kept my jewelry simple and opted for leather leggings and a snakeskin clutch to add a touch of edge.

  1. This is one of my favorite looks from you! Love it all, head to toe gorgeous! You styled this so beautiful.
    Happy Monday!

  2. This is such a sharp look, Jackie! I love how edgy it is and I would have never thought that you used to be a tomboy! I was picturing little Jackie getting dressed up by her mom — too cute for words! I love the ruffles and I love the fact that you are now embracing your feminine side!
    xoxo, Vanessa

  3. Hahaha!! I totally feel you on wearing things you thought you’d never wear as you get older.
Me in ANYTHING animal print will be the MF DAY, lol!
But I like your take on ruffles. Its’ a classier version of what we used to wear as kids with a layer of elegance to it. Great choice babygirl <3 <3

  4. I love this ruffled top on you, beautiful, and how it looks paired with those leather leggings (so excited for leather pant season, woohoo!) and snakeskin clutch, it really adds a nice feminine touch to the edgier pieces! I, too, was a tomboy growing up and I hated dresses and jewelry and clearly things have changed because I always gravitate towards both, haha! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great week ahead and wonderful month; Happy October!

  5. I used to be such a tomboy too! But I loved dressing up too. Church was always my days to dress up when I was younger. 🙂 In middle school I started dressing up all the time. I love this look on you. Those leather leggings are HOT. Keep working it, Jackie. You look great.

  6. You are so right about ruffles being an accessory! I adore this look from head to toe. I love that you added some edge you your blouse with the leather leggings and heels! I also just want to say thank you so much for your kind words on my post this week! They mean the world to me. It’s so encouraging to know that we all go through some of the same things and it was such a blessing for me to have you read and comment on that post because like you, I’m sometimes hesitant to share too much faith related topics (why IDK) so it was super encouraging to get a good response from it. Thank again beautiful!
