Tie-Dye Cashmere Sweater

In Fashion by Jackie S.7 Comments

For the past couple of months, I’ve been slowly cleaning out my closet. It’s become overrun with clothing that I haven’t used in years. Or pieces that I’ve only worn a handful of times because they’re too trendy. I’m looking at you, impulse buys! Lol! A lot of these pieces are just sitting in my closet taking up space. Both physically and mentally. My goal for cleaning out my closet is to not only organize it but to be more mindful of the pieces that I already own and wear them more often. Since most of my clothing is in great condition, I’m going to donate them to a couple of organizations out here that help women who have either left an abusive situation. Or who are in a job training program and are preparing for job interviews.

You guys, can we talk about this sweater? It’s by far one of my favorite cashmere sweaters. I wear it weekly. It was made by my very talented friend Sarah over at Sarah Sue Design. She repurposed this sweater by adding a bamboo fabric strip to the middle because it had a hole in it. And then she hand-dyed it to make this very cool tie-dye print. This sweater would have ended up in the landfill but now it has a second life with me.

Tie-Dye Trend

Speaking of tie-dye, have you noticed that it has started to make a comeback? I remember seeing some pieces back in summer, but I didn’t think it would stick around. In fact, if you had told me back then that I would be wearing a tie-dye cashmere sweater now, I would have laughed. Tie-dye has never really been my thing, it has always felt a little too ’70s hippie flower power to me. However, I do think this season we are seeing a chicer and more modern version of this print. And I’ll be honest, I might be coming around to this trend! lol But don’t expect to see me in a blue/yellow tie-dye print anytime soon 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love refashions like this. An entire shirt of tie-dye is a little too much for me, but the band in the middle breaks it up nicely.
