Floral Embroidery Dress

It has been exactly a week since we had to put our dog Pita down. And for the first time, I feel like I can talk about it without losing it. To say that I’m heartbroken is an understatement. I knew it was going to be sad and hard but I underestimated how broken hearted I would feel. Over the last six months, Pita and I created this special bond. When her hind legs were too weak to walk up and down the stairs, I carried her. When she had bouts of seizures, I was at her side calming her down. Or if she was too weak to eat, I fed her. There wasn’t much that we didn’t do together. Which is probably why all week I have felt this void in my heart. The hardest part is learning to live without her. However, it was the right thing to do for her. She fought so hard to be with us these last few months. And we are lucky to have such a great vet who came to the house to do it. Pita passed away peacefully in my arms, surrounded by her loved ones. She had an amazing 14 years and I feel blessed and fortunate to have been a part of her life❤️

Now, on to this floral embroidery dress…isn’t it cute? I just love the embroidered detail on it. This season, embroidery has been a big trend. From dresses to jeans and skirts to tops, there’s a style for everyone. One of the things I really love about this trend is that it’s so eye catching and makes your outfit stand out. We had a friend’s wedding this weekend and it was a welcome distraction for us. I had originally planned to wear this dress to the wedding but at the last minute, I ended up wearing my green maxi, last seen here. Darn knee wasn’t feeling the heels #fashiongirlproblems

  1. Oh I feel so sorry for your lost. I know how it feels and it is such avoid that a dog, or in my case a cat, can leave behind. My partner said to comfort me, just remember that he had a great live with is, perhaps that can be a little comfort to you.

  2. Love the dress, looks so cute on you……….very sorry for your loss. I also lost my cat, Smoky, three years ago and still miss her so much

  3. My sweet Jackie, I literally had tears in my eyes when I read your post. I have three dogs, and one of them, her name is Cali (my first one) I’ve had for 10 years. She is literally my BEST friend so, I can only imagine the pain you went through with Pita. The thought that one my pooches will leave me breaks my heart and I’m honestly so scared to even think about. I will keep you in my prayers, love. On a different note: I really LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress! So perfect for summer and I love seeing your beautiful face! Hope to meet you one day in person!
    Happy Monday, love!

  4. This dress is so sweet and so different then what I am used to seeing you dressed in. I love it though. I am also very sorry about your lose. She seemed like such a good friend and I’m sure such a lover. She lived a long life and that’s what is most important.

  5. You absolutely look lovely in that dress! Your post about your dog reminds me of my English Bulldog who died a few years ago. He was the first dog of the family so it was heartbreaking for all of us. 🙁

  6. Very sorry to hear about Pita Jackie, I remember you writing about when she wasn’t feeling ill. I actually have a huge phobia of dogs (long story), but I know how close people can be to their pets/dogs- he/she becomes an extension to your family…
On a different note, you look wonderfully feminine in this get up, love the cute a-line puff the dress has.
Oh! And my new blog and post is up, take a look: http://myfashionslashlife.com/2016/06/animal-print-pleather/

  7. So sorry for your loss! You look beautiful in this dress! And remember, take all the time you need to grieve…don’t let anyone rush you!

    xoxo, Amber

  8. Hey girl, again my deepest sympathies about Pita.
I know what it’s like losing a pet and nothing prepares you for that even if you know it’s coming.
Sending all kinds of love and positivity your way boo <3

  9. Jackie, I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your sweet Pita. When I originally saw this post come up in my wordpress notification feed, I could not bear to read it all right away because my heart literally is broken for you. I have tears in my eyes as I read this, as I know how special our doggies are – their spirits are amazing, and I strongly believe they have a special place in heaven. I cannot even let my mind turn to the time that my Nala will not be with us, so your loss saddens me deeply. Find peace in knowing how wonderful a life Pita had with you and how much of a blessing she was to you as well. Fur babies are such an amazing gift!! <3 On another note, I absolutely LOVE this dress on you! I am convinced you can wear anything fabulously!
Thinking of and praying for you my friend!
