Fall 2014 Must Haves

In Fashion, Uncategorized by Testing Purpose11 Comments

Hi guys! Remember me? I must apologize for my long absence, I hadn’t intended to be gone for so long. For the past few weeks, I’ve been busy working on a marketing campaign and photo shoot for Heart & Stroke’s ‘ I <3 Shoe Auction 2015 ‘. And I can’t wait to share it with you guys but you’ll have to wait a few months for that…Now that that’s done, it’s back to blogging and catching up with your blogs 🙂

Ok my loves, its time to get frank with you. Lately our weather has been up and down and by that I mean mostly down. That’s right, Winnipeg I’m looking at you. From the rain to the cooler temperatures and the constant overcast sky… I’m ready to admit that fall is coming 😁. Also it is September after all and the leaves in my yard have already started to turn. Believe it or not, Fall is one of my favourite seasons! I always look forward to pulling out my chunky sweaters, all my boots, coats, etc but I also look forward to picking up a few new items. No big surprise there! Anyhow, I thought I would share some of my fall 2014 must haves with you.

The Chunky Knit

This is a no brainer if you live in a cold weather city like me! I plan on adding several pieces to my closet, everything from cardigans, thick turtle necks, slouchy crew necks, oversized sweaters and hopefully something cashmere too 🙂

My tip – Remember oversized sweaters shouldn’t look sloppy. To keep this from happening, look for sweaters that fit in the shoulders and I like to balance out the volume by wearing fitted trousers or skinny jeans, leggings or even a pencil skirt.

The Black Blazer:

A black tailored blazer is classic, chic and feminine. And it looks great on all body types! I truly believe your closet is not complete without one. Right?!

My tip – Look for blazers that fit smaller in the shoulders & arms and they should sit around your hip.

The Tall Boot A.K.A Riding Boot:

I love a good riding boot because it’s classic but versatile. Dressed up or down, these beauties are your best friend. You can wear them with just about anything from skinnies to pants, skirts, dress, leggings etc… Need I say more.

Oversized Coat:

I believe it was the Burberry Prorsum Fall 2014 show that jumped started this chic trend. It’s the perfect piece to keep you warm as the summer days cools off and fall temperatures move in. Layering never looked so chic.

Slouchy Pants:

Whomever decided to combined the comfort of sweats with the polish of a trouser is a genius in my book. I love that these pants are relaxed in the hip but still have a tailored leg, making them still office approved. This is by far my favourite trend because they are easy to wear and ridiculously comfortable. I already own one too many pair.

What are you guys lusting after for fall?

xo, Jackie
