Casual Chic + The Perfect Bag

In Fashion, Outfit of the day by wR23Fs2Sqi39 Comments

A week ago today, a good friend of mine passed away unexpectantly and to say I’m heartbroken is an understatement. I am at a loss for words. My heart aches for her family, especially her sister who just had a baby this past summer. And Jo spent most of the summer helping her. I know that life is short and we should live it to the fullest but I don’t think you’re ever truly prepare to say goodbye to a loved one. I know God has a plan for all of us but when bad things happen to good people, it just makes no sense. But I will hold on to the wonderful memories and cherish her beautiful soul. May she rest in peace.

I was originally going to post this on Friday but with everything going on, I didn’t get around to it. As most of you know, my two weaknesses are bags and shoes. I’m embarrassed to say how many I have but you need different bags for different occasions. Right?! Plus, a handbag completes your outfit 🙂
I like my bags to have structure, fun details and great hardware too. And this Amy bag from Oliver Bilou checks all of those boxes. There are so many things I love about this bag. First of all, it arrives in a chic black box (with a dust bag) that makes you super excited to open it up. And who doesn’t love pretty packing! Shipping was quick and easy which is a bonus because I live in Canada. The structure is great and the bold blue color just pops. And can we talk about the zipper detail?! For me, it adds just the right amount of edge to its classic and feminine shape.

Also, inside the bag, there is a wonderful quote to always remind you of how strong you are “Chin up, shoulders back angel… You’ve got this in the bag. xxx”
And you can’t beat the price point either, all bags are under $100. Seriously, that’s my kind of company. And Oliver Bilou is giving my readers 10% off their order.Yay! Just enter stylemydreams at check out. See more here

  5. I am so sorry about your loss, Jackie. I hope all of that get resolved very soon. Many won’t rest until they know what really happen. God sure does have a plan for all of us, it truly believe that. On a lighter note I am really enjoying this fall jacket and heels combo. It looks so good, I’m not sure I could pull it off like you do.

  6. Hey hon, 2016 has been such a tough year on so many levels, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your good friend. May she rest in peace. I am struggling with a lot of bad things happening to good people this year….it can be hard to keep the faith..I hope things are getting better with your bro…As for the bag, I love the pop of colour and the fact it comes with a cute quote and duster bag seals the deal. Wishing you a good start of the week. X

  7. I’m so sorry for your loss, my dear friend. My heart, thought, and prayers are with you and Jo’s family. May she continue to live on in the memories you’ve shared and made together…On a lighter note, I love your outfit. That jacket looks so good on you and I adore that bag. 8. We just lost a friend this weekend unexpectedly so everything you said in your first paragraph I’m totally feeling, too. I’m a firm believer in God always having a plan, but when things happen like this, it’s hard to not question it slightly and question how life can be so short and unfair sometimes. Sending love and prayers as you deal with your loss <3

  9. Jackie, I am so so sorry to hear of the passing of your friend! I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers… yes we can rarely understand the “why” during such tragedy, but hang on to your faith and sweet memories of your beautiful friend. <3 As for your outfit, you look gorgeous, and I love that bag. Ladylike yet fun, and the pop of blue is gorgeous amidst the fall colors… not to mention that uplifting quote inside is just perfect! Beautiful post on many levels my friend!

  10. I’m so so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you during this difficult time. On a lighter note, I love that cobalt bag with the olive green, it’s such a gorgeous combo that I need to incorporate more into my outfits. I get so annoyed with shipping to Canada.. haha. Which I’m sure you can relate. It’s the duty that discourages me from getting things sometimes.
